As the only community foundation for the ocean, The Ocean Foundation’s US - 501(c)(3) mission is to support, strengthen, and promote those organizations dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world. As a former citizen of the Caribbean before moving the Europe and traveling the world, I have noticed a change in the conditions in the oceans every year during my travels. Increasing waste and pollution in the oceans has become a problem that is simply impossible to look away from.
Back to You - Focuses on an oceanic theme
That is also one of the reasons why I changed the production of "Back to You" to an oceanic theme with the most beautiful shots of beaches and oceans as we still know them and I point out this problem through this much-visited website.
Since the ocean covers 71% of the earth, the community of supporters including myself is global. The Ocean Foundation have grantees, partners, and projects on all of the world’s continents, and engage with donors and governments involved in ocean conservation anywhere in the world.
The Ocean Foundation’s Board of Directors is comprised of individuals with significant experience in marine conservation philanthropy as well as esteemed professionals in ocean conservation.
